With a combined 30 plus years of travel industry experience we previously worked together as product managers at award-winning Shearings Holidays prior to setting up our new venture 2020 Travel Partners. We have a proven track record in delivering quality, profitable and value-for-money holidays to provide memorable experiences for customers. During our careers we have both travelled to and spent time in the most popular destinations throughout the UK, Europe and Worldwide.
From an early age it was my ambition to work in travel and my studies enabled me to achieve my dream. To this day I still feel privileged to be a part of such a dynamic industry and have worked for several reputable tour operators during my career. It is always greatly satisfying to receive positive feedback about holidays that customers have enjoyed and makes all your hard work even more rewarding. Over the last 30 years I have gained experience in various sectors of the UK and Europe. Along the way I have visited many stunning destinations, discovered new cultures and met countless inspirational people.
One of my interests is learning languages and I speak fluent French, having studied and worked in many regions of France. I am currently brushing up on my German and can speak conversational Spanish and Italian.
My favourite destination is undoubtedly France as it has a wealth of diverse coastal and mountain scenery as well as wonderful cultural cities, such as Paris, Bordeaux and Avignon; and let’s not forget its outstanding regional cuisine. There are still plenty more places around the world I would love to travel to and top of my bucket list are Vietnam, Patagonia and Martinique.
‘Once you have travelled the voyage never ends’
As soon as I left university and started work at Botel, a coach wholesale company, I knew that this was the industry for me. As a keen traveller which has given me many amazing memories, the idea of developing tours and holidays to create memories for others appealed greatly. This is a mantra I use to this day and whether I am working on old favourite tours or developing new and exciting itineraries, the end customer is always at the forefront of my mind.
I have spent over ten years working for wholesalers and therefore have vast experience of creating tours for a variety of coach operators and private groups. As well as working for the ‘middle-man’, from working at Shearings Holidays I have experience of creating a holiday programme for a market-leading tour operator.
My favourite destination would have to be Belgium. Often underrated as a holiday destination it is home to magnificent towns and cities with stunning architecture, the scenic rolling hills of Wallonia and the Belgian Ardennes, the fantastic beaches of the Belgian coast and the thought-provoking memorial sites of World War I and II. Of course, you cannot forget about the famous beer and chocolates as well!
